Lake Brownwood
Lake Brownwood is a census‑designated place and reservoir located about 10 miles north of Brownwood in central Texas’s Brown County. The lake spans approximately 7,300 surface acres with a maximum depth of around 95 feet. The small community of Lake Brownwood has about 1,462 residents, while the nearby city of Brownwood is home to nearly 19,000 people. The area is known for its relaxed atmosphere and scenic surroundings, making it a favorite getaway for both locals and visitors.
Sports enthusiasts and anglers are drawn to Lake Brownwood for its excellent freshwater fishing. The lake is well-stocked with bass, white bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish.
